Wine tastings, visit to wineries and thermal baths on Veneto Hills

In this tour you will visit three of the most prestigious Euganean Hills (Veneto) wineries that have won international prizes for their wines. Remember that along this tour you will be trying many wines, please drink responsibly as the day is long.

After meeting at Padova train station we will head to our first winery on the Euganean hills, Villa Sceriman. Here you will taste different wines and have a platter of cheese and “affettati” (sliced meat). You can walk among the vineyards and admire the splendid Villa Sceriman, of which the first historical record dates back to 1447.

Next stop will be Monte Fasolo, a mountain that also gives the name to the local winery that hosts three different wine producers. This wine farm is superb and you will see the underground wine cellars that are comparable to atomic bunkers due to their depth and architecture. You will walk along an underground labyrinth full of bottles and barrels of wine right under the mountain. The wine tasting area will leave you speechless, as it’s extremely professional and stylish. A wine professional will explain you all the wines along the tasting and local food will be offered. Once the wine tasting is finished you are free to walk around the farm, visit the close by old Oratory of San Gaetano, trek around the hill and take a nap under the vineyards.

Next we will visit Zanovello winery, a small and family-lead wine company that has recently won an international prize for its Fior d’Arancio wine. Here the mother and the daughter will show you the cellars and describe you their excellent wines. After the tasting you can walk around the vineyards and the olive trees of Zanovello’s family farm.

Finallywe head to the Euganean thermal baths where you can relax in the hot water coming out from 3000-meters depth springs. Here you can decide to soak up in the therapeutic waters of the pools, steam up in the sauna or simply rest on sunbeds sipping a drink while admiring the amazing views of the hills surrounded by a green golf court.

Finally after this resting stopover we will head back to Padova where
our tour finishes.

Olive oil mill, cheese making, Renaissance Villa and thermal baths on Veneto Hills

The tour will start with a visit to Antonella’s diary where she will

Antonella’s cheese and other products of the local area such as bread made with
organic wheat, honey, biological vegetables and other products.

Next we will set off towards Colli Euganei (Euganean Hills) that is a protected regional park with beautiful landscapes and thousands of vineyards. There we will visit one the most beautiful Renaissance building of the region, Villa dei Vescovi. Here you will be free to visit the villa at your pace, learn a bit of Italian history and art, sip a glass of wine or an aperitif under the “portico” with its “affresco” and admire the astonishing panorama. We will have a picnic on the park of the villa eating cheese, bread and other local products.

After lunch we will go to a local olive oil mill where the family of Paolo and Pierangela will show you the laboratory where they produce the oil with local olives and they will explain you all the process to get an excellent Italian olive oil. At the end you will have an oil tasting so that you will be able to distinguish the different qualities of oil. Here you can buy and order your favourite Italian olive oil.

After this experience we will chill out at the Euganean thermal baths where you can relax in the hot waters coming out from 3000-meters deep springs.
